Course Evaluation
Course material will build on itself, and make use of material learned in previous courses such as data structures, proofs, etc.
Assignments
- Three assignments, each worth $3 \frac{1}{3} \%$ of final grade
- Deadlines are not flexible - set in stone
- 24 hours late: -10%
- More than 24 hours late: -100% (zero marks)
- Individual
- Assignments are always posted two weeks ahead of deadline
- Maximum of three questions per assignment
- Purpose is to provide insight into marking of algorithms questions
- At least one assignment will be fully marked before first exam
Exams
Note: the professor uses the term "exam" instead of "midterm"
- Two exams (October & November), each worth 20% of final grade
- On Brightspace, during office hours (Thursday lecture time)
- Open book
- Same difficulty as closed-book version
Final Exam
- Final exam, worth 50% of final grade
- Note: there is a 99.9% chance of the final exam taking place online. Official course outline is covering “all bases.”
